Before And After

 Before

After

I recently acquired a copy of Photoshop and actually I have very mixed feelings about editing images. I feel that an image should stand on it's own-not to say that I don't crop, sharpen and do very subtle and minute enhancing on occasion, but mostly I try for an image that is nice sooc as I believe it should be. I am not sure how I feel about extreme editing of an image to make in into something it didn't even start out as. I guess you'd say I am a bit of a purist and on the fence about much editing. My intent with Photoshop is mainly to resize, sharpen, enhance resolution or edit out dark areas etc. and the truth of the matter is that Photoshop's capabilities are far beyond my expertise, sooo with that said please know that for the most part my images are not edited to the extreme ever.

I did play a bit today, with Will and Soapsuds-the original image was a bit dark as it was late in the day so I lightened it a bit and added a couple of lens flares where there were already indications of the beginnings of some. I'm actually very curious which image you prefer? The Before or the After-After is also cropped slightly different giving a bit of a different perspective.

A Perfect Light

 Canna Leaf with Red edge

I hit the photo trail early this evening, in order to stalk a Magnolia I am keeping my eye on in hopes it will open soon. I was probably out by 6:30 until almost 8:00 P.M. and the light was glorious with very little breeze-perfect in my book. The Magnolia still had not opened(it won't be long), but I was not disappointed as it seems like I discover something new in the ever changing scenery of nature. I find pods I've never noticed, unfurled leaves that weren't there the day before, insects, cactus blooms and the list goes on and on-I'm so amazed each and every day at the things I took for granted before reconnecting with nature.

A Change Of Pace

Some kind of pine that smelled just like Christmas

My first silhouettes <3- in the beginning I was slightly annoyed that these people stepped out into the archway just as I was about to hit the release-just goes to show that sometimes serendipity plays a beautiful hand.

Were getting closer now were on to the evening of May 8, 2012. These were taken on the Texas Tech campus-the sun hiding behind clouds on occasion creating a nice filtered light. I wanted to try my hand at subjects other than flowers-I was a bit concerned as to how I would do, but I have to say I was very pleased with the results in the end. Once again these are imported from my other blog-bare with me just a bit longer-we're almost caught up.

April 27, 2012-it was another morning beautifully illuminated by the morning sun. I decided to see what I could find over at the Texas Tech Campus. I hadn't been out there during school hours in a very long time-I was struck by how the campus is so much like a city of it's own- hustle and bustle ensuing all around, students walking, riding bikes, buses passing precariously close, crews planting flowers that will adorn the grounds for the summer- energy is palpable.
