Let's Take A Road Trip

Take a little road trip along a beautiful Arizona Highway - a lovely Etsy Treasury featuring a Borrowed Camera Studio image entitled "Catchment". Enjoy!

I'd like to extend a big Texas thanks to BloomingtailsDogDuds on Etsy for the honor of taking up space in this very special treasury.

Mile after mile of magnificent scenery: desert rock formations, cacti and weathered buildings. A truly unique state, as these pics show. Enjoy your armchair journey!

Beauty Is In The Eye

I wonder? If I am the Only one who thinks that Okra blossoms are beautiful? I love the creamy petals and the deep maroon center-where the colors are then repeated. So beautiful with the sun coming through the petals and look at those glorious leaves with maroon veins.

Many people do not realize that Okra,Cotton,Cocoa and Hibiscus are related.

And The Summer Sun-An Etsy Treasury

How exciting! My "Summer Breeze" image is featured in this perfectly "summery" treasury, and really is there anything more "summery" than wild Sunflowers? A special "Thanks" to bestknitting

The Color Purple

Purple Coneflower-(Echinacea) probably my next favorite after the Sunflower boasts the most perfect lavender petals with the characteristic orange cone in the center. Echinacea is derived from the Greek word (echino) meaning "sea urchin" due to the spiny orange center cone.

Sun and Sunflowers

Last night we drove out to check on the status of the Sunflowers, as we got close I could see the glorious yellow fields tucked in amongst the beautiful green of the cotton fields-the sight just made my heart sing.

While I have a few close favorites to the Sunflower-I have to say that no other flower is as glorious as the Sunflower. The evening light seems to be the perfect accessory as it streams through the beautiful yellow petals-in a warm yellow halo.

Hint No. 2

The Laughing Seagull is indigenous to this area of Texas. The laughing gull's English name is derived from it's raucous kee'agh call, which sounds like a mocking "ha... ha... ha..."  Click here for a short clip of the Laughing Seagulls' mocking laugh.

Hint No. 1

Some of you may be familiar with this bridge, but for those of you who aren't it's a very cool bridge. The colors and patterns are programmed into a computer to change at random putting on a very cool light show. We had a great time driving over it (a couple of times) taking it all in.Can you guess where our mini whirlwind vacation was?

Pottery

One of my favorite places to visit when I head to the Texas Hill Country is Wildseed Farms, they have acres and acres of wildflowers and all kinds of fun garden accessories. I love the beautiful pottery all stacked together-the textures and colors are magnificent.

A Fresh Outlook

Colorful birdhouses all in a row

So, I went on a mad dash mini vacation to the coast, and then back up through the hill country of Texas. It's funny how even a short break from the mundane everyday responsibilities can give you a whole new outlook on life. Ahhhh, I feel much better.

Sometimes, I almost delete a photo thinking it doesn't do much for me but then...something happens and it grows on me.

A Curious Love

I love these curious flowers that grow just one at the end of a stem, for some reason I'm just drawn to them.

Just Because

I was going to hold off until tomorrow's post, but I just couldn't. I sort of fell in love with this simple image. I don't have a clue what kind of flower this is-they come in a variety of colors, they are sort of odd little ducks with one flower per stem, but somehow I find them very intriguing.

Fullness

Taking photos reminds me daily, that wherever I am the "fullness of God is." I just realized not too awfully long ago that is why I'm drawn to the camera- the lure is magical, soulful, spiritual-it fills me.

At first, photo expeditions seemed to be just about scouting a particular image, but slowly they have evolved into so much more. There is a finite attraction that is THE most palpable when I am out among nature-I am drawn to the realization that God is all around me...in the sunflowers, the cotton blossoms, the honeybees, the rain clouds, the light... I am reminded that "right where I am the fullness of God is."
